Homecoming Week is coming up! We will kick the week off with our parade on Sunday starting at 5:30 (line up is at 5). Due to games throughout the week, we are changing our schedule a bit this year. This year we will have our annual Twinkle Toes and Powder Puff on Sunday after the parade. Then we will end the night with our community pep rally! We will play the Bucklin Aces on Friday night, September 18th, with the Homecoming ceremony starting at 6:30 and then kickoff at 7:00. Our Middle and High School Cheerleaders attended the 2026 Spirit Spreader in Dodge City. This is a KSHSAA-sponsored event that travels to locations in the state of Kansas for two weeks to kick off the Spirit Season. There were approximately 700 Dancers and Cheerleaders at this event. Both Spartan cheer teams had a wonderful day of learning and fun. This is an event that we look forward to every year.

Now we are ready for our Spartan fans to join us Saturday to cheer on the High School football team as they kick off their season! We are looking forward to an amazing year spreading spirit and pride in our community! GO BIG RED! #WeAreSpartans #SpartanMomentum

Yesterday, our DHS Girls Golf team traveled to Johnson, Kansas, and had a good start to the season at Prairie Pines Golf Course. Yareli Morales shot 73 for 5th, Ade Oropeza shot 75 for 8th, and Kenzie Graham shot 85. Good job girls! #WeAreSpartans #SpartanMomentum

We want to update you on the current boil water advisory affecting our district. Since water fountains will not be available, families are welcome to send a water bottle with their student. In addition, water bottles will be available at all school buildings for any student who needs one.

Please be assured that USD 216 will continue to follow all guidance from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) until the boil water advisory has been officially lifted. We will notify families as soon as that occurs.

Tomorrow is the first day back for all students in grades K-12 at Deerfield! Our teachers and staff are thrilled to see everyone back first thing tomorrow morning! Doors will open at 7:30 am, school starts at 7:50 am. Students will receive breakfast and lunch, and then be dismissed at 12:00 pm. It is almost that time of year! Back to School Open House will be on August 5th, 2026. Deerfield High School and Middle School will be from 4-6pm and then Deerfield Elementary will be from 5-7pm.
