The Lady Spartans played the Rolla Pirates at home on Thursday night. This was the final round of the Santa Fe Trail League Tournament. The girls came in second place in the league. The final score of the game was Deerfield 29 and Rolla 26. Below are a few words from coach Eslinger.
It was nice to get another win on the season. We have been playing hard and competing but just unable to find a W, so to make that happen tonight was great for our girls. The first half was rough; we did everything right, but the ball would not go into the basket. In the second half, they kept their attitude in the right place and battled; the ball started to go in the basket, and we overcame a deficit and came out on top. We look forward to our next week and continuing to improve as we prepare for playoff basketball.
