On Friday, April 15th, 18 Deerfield HS students traveled to Kansas City, MO, to the National WWI Museum. Students were guided through the museum by Mrs.Cook and Mr.York. Students experienced actual historical artifacts and replicas, as well as life-sized trenches. As stated by the students, some of the highlights were the numerous types of weapons and uniforms on display, being able to view the actual size of artillery, and being able to see the differences between the trenches (British, French, and German). "This is amazing, thank you Mrs.Cook," said Tannon York. A grant covered students' tickets and lunches through the museum, and a stipend is being sent to the district to help with travel expenses. Thank you for supporting these amazing students! Please go to www.usd216.org and download the USD 216 App for all the latest information.
