Deerfield FFA got to finish out our first season of CDE competitions in March and the first week of April. Students have been able to find success at all of them. At the beginning of March, we traveled to Ulysses for the Veterinary Science CDE, where our team ended up placing 3rd in the junior division. We traveled to Hodgeman County at the end of March for students to compete in Livestock Judging and the Entomology CDE. Our livestock judging team found success placing 5th as a team in the junior division, and Brenda Harper ended up 4th individually in the junior division. Keely Petrus competed in the Entomology contest and placed 5th individually. We ended our competition by competing in Meats Judging and Food Science CDEs. Our Meats team got 10th, while our food science team got 5th in the junior division, and Keely Petrus placed 1st individually, the other participants on this team were Katie Langley, who got 22nd, and Keshia Langley, who placed 16th. It has been an excellent year for our students, and getting some hardware only makes us more excited for future years and competitions. I am so proud of these students and cannot wait to see what they accomplish in years to come!
