This past weekend, we had our annual Clash event. Lots of preparation takes place to make this event possible. The Clash, a fundraiser for our activities and sports programs, is not just an occasion to raise funds but also a celebration of the generous contributions from our sponsors throughout the year. This allows us to give our students opportunities and experiences that, without these funds, would not be possible.
As the event unfolded, people got the opportunity to catch up with friends and families and talk about their time at USD 216. Guests were served a meal by John Ross and his dedicated crew. John Ross always delivers such a fantastic meal for our guests. While everyone was eating, they also had the opportunity to look at silent auction items and place a bid. Once the silent auction had ended and everyone was done eating, Spencer Turrentine, the auctioneer, kicked off the live auction, and everyone had the opportunity to support the students and staff of DHS/DMS through their bids during this time.
We would like to thank any business or individual for donating to our silent and live auction. We ended the evening with the amazing performance of dueling pianos, which provided a soundtrack of joy throughout the night. The catchy melodies and infectious energy of the performers hyped the audience; the audience was cheering and dancing to the soundtracks of dueling pianos.
As the Clash event came to an end, everyone once again enjoyed the 3rd annual event and enjoyed taking the opportunity to not only have a fun evening but also support the students and staff of DHS/DMS for the next year. Without this support, the opportunities provided to that group would not be possible, and we are thankful for all the people who contributed to the event and the success of our staff and students.
