Introduction:

Crystal Steinmetz serves as the Superintendent of Deerfield USD 216, bringing a wealth of experience in educational leadership and a deep commitment to student success. With nearly two decades of experience in education, she has held various roles, including teacher, instructional coach, educational consultant, and Director of Curriculum and Assessment. With a strong background in strategic planning, curriculum development, assessment, and stakeholder engagement, she is dedicated to driving continuous improvement in student outcomes.

Educational Background:

Crystal holds a Master of Science degree in Education and has served as an educational consultant, where she provided crucial administrative and managerial support to various districts. Her work in this role has focused on strategic planning, goal setting, action planning, and data analysis, all aimed at fostering continuous improvement. She is known for conducting successful training sessions and workshops, delivering impactful educational content, and building strong relationships with educators and administrators.

Professional Experience:

Previously, as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Crystal led efforts to develop curriculum frameworks aligned with state standards and implement standards-based assessments. She worked closely with teachers to revise curriculum documents, provided professional development to support instructional improvements, and coordinated district-wide data analysis to support student growth. Her commitment to equitable access to high-quality education, particularly in diverse communities, has been a cornerstone of her educational philosophy.

Outside of work, Mrs. Steinmetz enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as with her two mischievous dogs.
